Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 17, 2026

AgriForge ("AgriForge," "we," "us," or "our") provides farm-management software for livestock, crops and fields, maintenance and assets, and related features (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.

This policy is written to align with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Saskatchewan law. If you access the Service from outside Canada, you understand that your information will be processed in Canada and other countries as described below.

The legal entity responsible for your personal information (the "data controller") is:

John Fodchuk (sole proprietor, operating as AgriForge)
Saskatchewan, Canada
Privacy contact: [email protected]

1. Scope

This policy applies to personal information we collect through:

It does not apply to third-party services you connect to or link out from the Service, which are governed by their own privacy policies.

A note on roles: when you use AgriForge to manage your own farm operation, we act as the organization deciding how your account information is handled. For the operational records you enter about your business (livestock, fields, assets, and any personal information of your team members or contacts), you are the controller of that content and we process it on your behalf under our Terms of Service and, where applicable, our Data Processing Addendum.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide

2.2 Operational content you enter

The Service stores the records you create to run your operation, which may include:

This content is generally about your operation rather than about identifiable individuals, but it may incidentally contain personal information (for example, a contact name on an invoice).

2.3 AI features

Some features use artificial intelligence:

To provide these features, content is processed as follows. Photo analysis (animal identification, weight, and condition) runs on AgriForge's own servers hosted on DigitalOcean; photos are not sent to a third-party model for this. The chat assistant and image generation send your prompts, and any content you include, to third-party AI providers acting as our service providers — xAI (the Grok models) and Anthropic (the Claude models) — which process that content under their own data-use terms (see the xAI privacy policy and the Anthropic privacy policy). These providers do not use content submitted through their business APIs to train their models. We do not use your operational content to train third-party public AI models.

2.4 Information collected automatically

We do not sell your personal information.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

Our legal basis. Under PIPEDA we rely on your consent, which may be express or implied depending on the sensitivity of the information and the context. By providing information and using the Service you consent to the uses described here. You may withdraw consent subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice (this may limit our ability to provide the Service).

4. How we share information

We share personal information only as described here:

We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for their own marketing.

5. Storage, transfers, and security

We host the Service on DigitalOcean cloud infrastructure located in the United States, and we use service providers that may process data in the United States, Canada, and other countries. Where information is processed outside your country, it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by courts and authorities. We use contractual and technical safeguards to require comparable protection.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and passwordless authentication. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for a reasonable period to meet legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. You can export your operational data at any time. When you delete content or close your account, we delete or de-identify the associated personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law or for backups that are cycled out on a regular schedule.

7. Your rights and choices

Subject to PIPEDA and applicable law, you may:

To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. We will respond within the timeframe required by law (generally 30 days under PIPEDA). We may need to verify your identity before acting. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) and, for matters within its jurisdiction, the Saskatchewan Information and Privacy Commissioner (oipc.sk.ca).

8. Children

The Service is intended for use by businesses and adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their province/territory. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice (such as in-app or by email). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
